Julie Hanney
Composer and pianist Julie Hanney writes and records music that is soothing, unique, passionate, delicate and graceful. Her music has had tens of millions of streams on online platforms, and can be heard on Sirius XM, Whisperings Solo Piano Radio and many more radio stations and streaming sites. Her neoclassical style is inspired by her spirituality, nature and human emotions. She also draws inspiration from classical masters such as Chopin, Mozart, Satie, Faure and Beethoven, as well as modern masters such as Joe Hisaishi, Yann Tiersen, Nils Frahm, Alexis Ffrench and Florian Christl.

She has played piano since she was a young child, first learning from her grandmother, and has written music since she was quite young. She received her music education at the University of Oregon where she graduated with a degree in Music with special emphasis on piano and composition. She then studied composition at the graduate level and is a published composer of works for piano, choir and various instrument combinations.
Julie's most recent release is an EP titled Impressions that came out in October of 2025 with Heart Dance Records. In 2024 Heart Dance Records released Julie's fifth complete solo piano album called Wonderment. Her previous albums are: Everyday Miracles, Where the Ocean Meets the Sky, A Peace-Filled Christmas and Painting in Sound. She has also released many singles over the past several years.
Music reviewer Rob Benny said of her music, "Expressive without being pretentious or needlessly flashy, Julie’s music is performance with an aura – one which will emotionally move you in many ways." This is her goal in sharing the music she receives - that it would indeed move others.
Julie's albums Everyday Miracles and A Peace-Filled Christmas were each nominated for Album of the Year in by SoloPiano.com. Her songs have won awards and have been featured on numerous popular playlists, radio stations, blogs and streaming sites. Some of her songs play on Sirius XM's Spa channel and on international airline radio stations. Her single Blue was nominated for Best Solo Piano Single by One World Music Radio.
She has performed many solo concerts and has put together a variety of other concerts including special Peace Through Music events, with many different musicians.
